Graflex Speed Graphic - Slow Old Tank

I found this ex-US Signal Corp Speed Graphic on Ebay a few years ago and have definitely not used it enough, though it's still one of my favorites in the collection. I'm a sucker for olive drab and black, and there's little other color anywhere on her. Unfortunately the pack-film is expensive and I don't have the space for film-developing right now, but I still pull it out from time to time for big, beautiful polaroids and their salvaged negatives.

This particular one is from 1953-55, so may have seen time in Korea, or maybe just sat on a base here in the US. I like to believe it was at some point in the same place and time as my grandfather while he was over there. I've removed the side-mounted rangefinder for ease-of stowage and because it wasn't particularly accurate anyway, and replaced the stock 127mm lens with a 203mm Kodak for something approaching a portrait length at a reasonable budget. (should be about the same field-of-view as a 60mm on a standard 35mm DSLR)

Everything on this girl works very well though, and despite each frame taking a few minutes to get set up it's a great joy to shoot with. I'm excited to, at some point, get to use its film backs that have so long been laying in wait.
